Astrophytum ornatum super telephoto 10/27/13
I toss in this picture more as an ad for my Nikon P520 camera. I took the picture about ten feet (3m) from the flower with the telephoto racked out to its 35mm equivalent 1 m focal length, augmented by the digital zoom. So this is a hand-held maybe 2 m telephoto. Pretty good image stabilization technology, I think. At 18 megapixels, the digital zoom finally gives a good picture. Any significantly less megapixels and the image would look fuzzy.   (08/24)
