Peniocereus greggii ("Arizona Queen of the Night") SNL1     6/10/20
This is another picture that's only possible for captive plants. In nature, that fruit would be gone a couple of months after forming. Here it is, next to a flower a year later. I tried to make more seed for this species by leaving the grafted plants in the greenhouse where the temperature approximates the habitat temperature (110 F; about 43 C). Total failure. Of the ten flowers, none set seed. There were at least three individual plants.   (26/72)
