Ariocarpus retusus SB68 MG34    7/14/21
This is something strange. I've never seen an Ariocarpus flower this early in the year. It's two months early. It's one of five plants that I raised from one seed sowing. Two of the other plants from this cohort are now swelling buds, at their normal (?) flowering time. I just went out and looked. They're both flowering (9/15/21). Plants of this genus show spines in the seedling and juvenile form. By full adulthood (?), there are no spines. (031/112)
